This guide outlines the additional documents you may need to provide alongside a valid form of ID to complete your verification. This is particularly relevant if you live overseas, have recently moved, or have ever changed your name.
For UK individuals, we will first attempt to verify your current address using third-party databases. If this is unsuccessful, or if you’ve moved within the last 12 months, you will be asked to provide proof of address. Please note that originals or certified copies are not required.
For individuals based outside the UK, or UK residents who have moved home in the last 12 months, one of the documents listed below will always be required.
The following documents are acceptable as evidence of current residential address. Your name and the corresponding address should appear clearly on the document:
(Foreign equivalents of the listed documents are acceptable.)
The same documents can be used to evidence a 12-month address history and must be dated no more than 6 months before the claimed change of address. Evidence will be required for each change of address within the last 12 months.
The following documents are acceptable as evidence of a change of name:
(Foreign equivalents of the listed documents are acceptable.)
We do not require original documents or certified copies. A clear scan or photograph of the document is sufficient. Files can be submitted in PDF or common image formats (such as JPEG or PNG), provided the relevant information is legible.
Redactions are permitted to remove sensitive information (e.g., transaction details on a bank statement) as long as the relevant information is visible.
If the relevant section of a document is not legible in English, a non-official translation must accompany the evidence.
